Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum Endorses C. Mason Weaver for Congress

ALTON, IL — Phyllis Schlafly, founder and president of the Eagle Forum and a national
leader of the conservative movement, has endorsed C. Mason Weaver as Congressman of
California’s 53rd District.
 

While many of today’s lawmakers succumb to political correctness and special interests,
Mrs. Schlafly said that Mr. Weaver would be a clear and consistent voice of reason on
behalf of America’s families and their values on Capitol Hill.
 

“Mr. Mason’s unwavering conservative ideals — including the support of American
sovereignty, creating healthy private enterprise, the sanctity of traditional marriage,
individual freedom and responsibility, and defending our Constitution — mirror the core
values upheld by the Eagle Forum since 1972,” said Mrs. Schlafly. “Since the birth of our
nation, these values have served to make the United States the exceptional country that it

“Mrs. Schlafly and the Eagle Forum have been a bastion in the advocacy and furtherance of
conservative values for three decades. I am honored to join them in the fight,” said Weaver.
The mission of the Eagle Forum is “to enable conservative and pro-family men and women
to participate in the process of self-government and public policy making so that America
will continue to be a land of individual liberty, respect for family integrity, public and
private virtue, and private enterprise.” The organization has over 80,000 members.
 

A leading forerunner in the pro-family movement for more than 30 years, Mrs. Schlafly
works tirelessly to advance conservative and traditional values. Her radio commentaries
are heard 5 days a week on 500 stations and her program “Eagle Forum Live” is heard
weekly on 75 radio stations. She is the author or editor of 20 books on topics such as
family, education, child care, nuclear strategy and foreign policy, including the 1964 best-
seller, A Choice Not an Echo.
