C. Mason Weaver Wins Endorsement of Retired California State Senator Bill Morrow

SAN DIEGO – Retired California State Senator Bill Morrow has announced his endorsement of C. Mason Weaver for Congress for the 53rd District.  Morrow, who held office as California State Senator in the 38th District from 1998 to 2006, after serving in the California State Assembly in the 73rd District from 1992 to 1998, stated that he has determined Weaver to be the candidate best suited of all of the Republican candidates running in the June 8, 2010 primary, to beat long-term incumbent Democrat Susan Davis in the 53rd District in November.

California State Senator Mark Wyland, who also has declared his endorsement of Weaver, succeeded Morrow in the 38th District in 2006.

“Mason Weaver has shown over many years the proven character and integrity that it takes to win the confidence of Californians, and of the American people.

“He will remain accountable to the people, will uphold the U.S. Constitution, and he’ll take these principles to Congress, if elected,” said Morrow.

Morrow served as Chairman of the California State Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, and was also the Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and the Energy, Utilities and Communications Committees. Morrow also served on the Education Committee and the Business, Professions and Economic Development Committees in the State Senate.

Popular with both Republican and Democratic legislators, Morrow was one of two Republicans to head a policy committee (Veteran Affairs) in the Democratic-controlled State Senate.  The conservative senator also teamed up with liberal Democratic Senator Joe Dunn, from Orange County, leading a special select committee investigation of the California energy crisis.  Morrow made a committee motion to hold Enron in contempt for failing to respond to committee document subpoenas, and the motion carried.  Enron eventually sued the California Senate, claiming it lacked jurisdiction to enforce its state-level investigation by subpoenaing out-of-state entities.  Enron lost in court and the Senate investigation proceeded.

“I have known Bill Morrow for a number of years as he served in the State Assembly and the State Senate.   I have testified at his Senate Hearings and worked with him for years,” said Weaver.

A conservative Christian and a pro-life leader on abortion issues, Morrow is also very strong on illegal immigration and is a strong advocate for traditional family values.

C. Mason Weaver Has Been Vandalized!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Email: info@CMasonWeaverForCongress.com                                     April 27, 2010
Phone: 619-488-1913
CAMPAIGN BANNERS VANDALIZED ON HEELS OF ANNOUNCEMENT OF RICK AMATO ENDORSEMENT AT FREEDOM RALLY, C. MASON WEAVER ASKS SUPPORTERS TO WEIGH IN ON ISSUE OF PERPETRATORS

SAN DIEGO – A second, more damaging vandalism of one of two campaign banners for C. Mason Weaver for Congress, occurred Sunday evening, April 25, 2010, just one week after the vandalism of the same large banner posted close to the 163 and 8 freeways, near the campaign’s headquarters office, in the Mission Valley area of San Diego.

Last week’s vandalism involved cutting and stretching the larger banner. On Sunday, the entire banner was cut from the wall where it was attached and removed entirely.

Said a campaign spokesman, “Oddly, our other banner suggesting the replacement of incumbent Democrat Susan Davis, was not harmed.  Therefore, at this point, we would like to commend Davis supporters for their restraint and decency.”

San Diego Police are conducting an investigation and are asking the public to report any suspicious activity they may have witnessed on Sunday, and to be alert for future activity as well.

The campaign acknowledges that last week, it spoke of those who would exhibit their extreme intolerance of anyone, or any idea, who have a view different from their own.  It said that when the intolerance also manifests itself in acts of destruction or harm, it cannot help but be viewed as hypocrisy and bigotry.

“This repeated act doesn’t seem to be the hallmark of a kid on a spree,” said the campaign’s spokesman. “This highly focused attack seems rather to come from hatred of some kind.”

Despite the vandalism, the campaign remains in high gear after a very successful appearance by Weaver, Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Sweetwater Harley-Davidson Freedom Rally in National City, California, where he spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of freedom – loving Americans.  The event also highlighted speeches by other ICaucus-endorsed Republican candidates, food, fun, and music, and was attended by patriotic families as well as Biker Patriots who made the event a stop on a cross-country tour.

At the event, Weaver received the endorsement of popular radio talk show host Rick Amato (1170 AM, KCBQ) who was the emcee.  “The endorsement by Rick Amato of my campaign is an honor, and Rick’s listeners are regular Americans who are very aware of the ongoing assault upon our country and our prosperity by the current administration,” said Weaver.

Amato’s show focuses on the struggle of middle-class Americans who increasingly feel under-represented, under-appreciated and overwhelmed, as deep-pocketed special interest groups gain greater influence in Washington — among both political parties — at the expense of everyday people.

C. Mason Weaver is considered by many as the front-runner among Republican candidates for Congress in the 53rd District.  The seat is currently held by the long-term Democratic incumbent Susan Davis .

JOBLESS NUMBERS IN SAN DIEGO, WOULD REVERSE WITH WEAVER’S FIRST CONGRESSIONAL BILL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Pamela Stone
Email: info@cmasonweaverforcongress.com                                        April 18, 2010
Phone: 619-488-1913
LATEST RECORD JOBLESS NUMBERS IN CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO, WOULD FACE REVERSAL WITH WEAVER’S FIRST OF THREE CONGRESSIONAL BILLS

SAN DIEGO – California’s just released current unemployment rate, which indicate a steep increase in jobless numbers from a year ago, would be countered and reversed by “The Return America to Financial Freedom Act,” C. Mason Weaver’s first of his three bills he will introduce in Congress if elected to the U.S. Congressional seat of the 53rd District of California.

California’s current 12.6 percent jobless rate is a steep increase, up from 10.6 percent in March 2009, occurring despite President Obama’s stimulus, his jobs bill, his housing “rescues”, as well as myriad other governmental regulations and intrusions.  San Diego’s unemployment rate, now at 11.0 percent, is up from approximately 8.4 percent from a year ago.

Weaver’s first bill is created to unleash the forces which will create jobs and which will put into motion a recovery from the current deep and protracted recession in this country.

His first bill, entitled, “The Return America to Financial Freedom Act” contains a key component declaring that all unspent and unused Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) funds shall be returned to the U.S. Treasury, and that all contracts, agreements and mandates under the TARP program shall cease under this program, returning the funds to the American public in a direct income tax reduction.

Even in spite of three straight months of hiring increases, the unemployment rate in both California and San Diego County has hit a record height in March, because the creation of new jobs has not kept pace with the sharp increase in the number of workers who have lost their jobs and are looking for work.  California is currently tied for third place (with Rhode Island) in worst unemployment in the country, after Michigan (14.1%) and Nevada (13.4%).

“The policies Susan Davis has followed, in line with Obama, Pelosi and Reid, have only facilitated these terrible unemployment figures,” said Weaver.  “My bill will reduce the jobless numbers and put the people back to work.”

C. Mason Weaver Wins the Latest Debate!

C. MASON WEAVER WINS “HANDS DOWN” IN STRAW POLL FOLLOWING CANDIDATES’ FORUM, CORONADO, CA

SAN DIEGO – A wide straw poll of attendees taken at the end of a Candidates’ Forum indicated a win by C. Mason Weaver, “hands down” over three other Republican candidates who were also invited to air their answers to questions, in the event held Tuesday evening, April 13, 2010 at the Coronado Golf Course Club House in Coronado.

The packed occasion, held by The Coronado Republican Women Federated, presented to the public the four candidates currently running in the primary, and who were asked to tell the public their views on the key national issues in the Congressional race, and their reasons why they are best suited for the Congressional Seat of the 53rd District currently held by long-term incumbent and very liberal Democrat Susan Davis.

The dinner and Candidates’ Forum at the Coronado Golf Course Club House contained a crowd of roughly 300 members of the public, which broke into applause and at one time a took a standing ovation to several of Weaver’s responses to questions involving key issues facing the country.

In a sampling of the questions from the group, as well as the audience, all allowing only timed answers, Weaver was asked why he is the best candidate to beat Susan Davis.  Weaver emphatically stated that Democrats divide up the American public into groups with divided needs.  “Republicans look at issues, and not into which group a set of people belong, such as the white group, the brown group, the old group, the people who wear glasses group — or, this disenchanted victim group over that other disenchanted victim group.  I do not believe in a hyphenated America.  We are all Americans,” said Weaver.

He also reiterated his years as a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Navy, and the power of forgiveness, when he was nearly fatally injured by the intentional acts of a shipmate, resulting in Weaver’s honorable medical discharge from the military.

“Again,” said Weaver, “God, with all certainty, does not see us as hyphenated Americans, divided into groups.

“I call it ‘kitchen table’ issues,” said Weaver.  “When your 401(K) is 40 percent down, your house value is 30 percent down, when unemployment has doubled in this district, it makes no difference what group you belong to. You are all equally effected,” said Weaver, to loud applause.

“I particularly liked when Mason said the current government loves to manage misery,” said Marie Showalter, an attendee at the event.  “This is indeed what the current Democrats in office do.”

Of the three Congressional Committees on which Weaver would most like to serve, he chose the House Judiciary Committee as his favorite, when asked in questioning.  He said he believes that court nominees must be thoroughly scrutinized.  “They need to explain what the U.S. Constitution really means before they are allowed to take office,” said Weaver.

When asked in one question whether gay rights are equivalent to the Civil Rights struggle of blacks in this country, Weaver answered, “No comparison. When was it ever legal to hold homosexuals in captivity, to beat and kill at will?  Never.  When was it ever legal to deny gays their basic legal rights?  Never,” said Weaver, to the sound of interrupted applause by attendees.  Weaver said that marriage between a man and woman is necessary in order to protect children, which are the future of our country.

In Weaver’s closing statement, he spoke of the certain positive qualities of each of the other candidates present at the night’s Forum, but stated that voters must unequivocally elect a candidate to beat Susan Davis. “Susan Davis is afraid of me,” said Weaver.  “She’s not afraid of losing against the other candidates.”

He also asserted a clarification to those still confused by his former 1992 radio talk program name of Clarence Mason, as compared to his Stage name, C. Mason Weaver.  Weaver stated that when he stood up on his radio show, and throughout his public speeches over the years, in adherence to his conservative values against liberal groups, these groups had threatened his wife of 24 years.  Upon receiving those threats, Mason then publicly and on the air, for the express purpose of protecting his wife and family, announced the adoption of his stage name, C. Mason Weaver, which he has continued to use.

The Secretary of State has accepted his name, C. Mason Weaver (just as they did in 2000 when Weaver ran for Assembly) as the name for the June 8, 2010 primary ballot.

CRWF is an active women’s political organization in Coronado, California, founded in 1950.  Their mission is to support and strengthen the Republican Party by recruiting, training and electing candidates, advocating the Republican Party’s philosophy and initiatives, and empowering women of all ages, ethnicities and background in the political process.

Ronald Reagan Attorney General Edwin Meese Endorses C. Mason Weaver

C. Mason Weaver continues to assemble the Ronald Reagan ideas and philosophy with the welcome addition of Attorney General Edwin Meese III to his growing list of supporters.  Edwin Meese seldom endorses or supports a candidate in a contested Republican primary. However, after knowing C. Mason Weaver for 20 years, working on the same issues and sharing information and research, this was one exception to the rule. The C. Mason Weaver for Congress campaign is thrilled to have the leadership and wisdom of this long time conservative thinker.

FORMER ATTORNEY GENERAL EDWIN “ED” MEESE III ENDORSES
C. MASON WEAVER FOR CONGRESS

SAN DIEGO, CA –  Edwin “Ed” Meese, 75th Attorney General of the United States, has endorsed C. Mason Weaver for Congressman of California’s 53rd District, stating that Weaver’s New Contract with America demonstrates a clear and uncompromising stance on responsible economic strategies at home and fighting terrorism abroad.

“C. Mason Weaver’s plans to help revitalize the economy, target terrorists and protect American interests are crucial to regaining the sense of security that so many Americans have lost,” said Meese.

“I know Mr. Weaver to be a principled man of sound judgment and unyielding traditional values,” said Meese.  “As Congressman, he will relentlessly pursue freedom and uphold America’s Constitutional heritage which has capably guided her for the past two centuries.”

Weaver said that he is honored to have the endorsement of Meese who, because of his influence with the former president, has been described as the “alter ego of Ronald Reagan.”

“Mr. Meese has been a distinguished and venerated public servant whose indispensable wisdom has guided one of the most successful presidencies of our time,” said Weaver.  “I am honored to have his support.”

Meese served as U.S. attorney general from 1985 to 1988 and served as counselor to President Reagan from 1981 to 1985.   He formerly served as Governor Reagan’s executive assistant and chief of staff from 1969 through 1974.  An expert on the U.S. legal system, criminal justice, intelligence and national security, Meese was a professor of law at the University of San Diego from 1977 to 1981.  He published his memoirs in the 1992 book, With Reagan: The Inside Story.

CA State Senator Mark Wyland Endorses C. Mason Weaver for Congress

SAN DIEGO – California State Senator Mark Wyland has announced his endorsement of C. Mason Weaver for Congress for the 53rd District.

Wyland, who represents nearly 1 million people in the 38th District, stated that he believes Weaver will best represent the people of California and added that his “long term commitment to conservative values in our region is unique.”

Wyland was elected to California State Senate in 2006 after serving in the State Assembly since 2000. His experience as co-owner of the Pine Tree Lumber Company, a family owned business, has given him first-hand knowledge of the economic challenges facing business owners.

Weaver said that Wyland’s focus on creating jobs by lowering taxes and eliminating government spending is just what America needs, and is a method he will utilize if elected to Congress.

“I am proud to have the support of a common-sense legislator like Wyland,” said Weaver.

In the California Senate, Wyland is Vice-Chair of the Business, Professions and Economic Development and Labor & Industrial Relations committees. He also serves on the Governmental Organization, Appropriations, Veterans Affairs and Education committees.

Return, Repeal, Replace: C. Mason Weaver for Congress

Now that the health care takeover is complete, we are hearing calls for acceptance, to just drop it and not give the impression we are obstructionist.  Now that is hilarious! I bet the Democrats would really appreciate it if we stop reminding the American people of what has occurred this past year.

Now that the Democrats have changed their own rules, disregarded the Constitution, utilized private bribery and exempted themselves from this bill, they say that we should just settle down and go on with new business, that we should chalk this up to a loss and move on.

I have a message for them and those commentators warning Republicans to stop resisting change and avoid looking like we are the party of “NO!” I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! I will not surrender and I will obstruct, resist, shout out, correct, instruct, protest, and if elected to Congress, I will legislate to repeal this and stand in the gap against the continued onslaught soon to follow.

I know the difference between an enemy and a competitor.  This is not a game, we do not lose today and play again tomorrow.  There are real differences between my view of America and the Democrat view.  Those differences require a constant effort to persuade, control and influence society to reflect the views we hold.

We must never stop expressing those differences and defending our view of society. They never give up, why should we? They are planning to continue to remake us in their image. The president and his allies in Congress are planning to extend voting rights to felons, illegals immigrants and any other group they feel will vote for them. They intend to continue their attacks on prosperity, income producers and the strongest culture the world has every seen.

So therefore I pledge to never give up on America, the Constitution, the principals of freedom and capitalism. I believe America is the strongest culture the world has ever seen for a reason.  Those reasons need protection and elevation. Those reasons have always been under attack and will always be in danger. Those reasons will not protect you, you must protect them.

So lets,

RETURN:

We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created. Therefore freedom is not government issued.

We are a self governing people who elect representatives. We are not children in need of direction from our government.

REPEAL:

Any legislation which does not conform to the foundation of the US Constitution, the concept of limited government and the will of the people, shall not stand.

Taxes, regulations and government control over the lives and interactions of the people must seek to be a minimum intrusion not an all inclusive management of society.

REPLACE:

“Incumbent” is not a protective species nor is it a permanent position. Elected officials work best when they are concerned about the people. An educated, informed citizen is the best defense against an arrogant, disconnected ruling class of politicians.

Know and understand your views of culture, society and the American way. Choose candidates who reflect those beliefs, then keep track of them. Your candidate for office cannot be more involved than you. Do not just elect and forget.  Politicians require more attention than a potted plant. Politicians cannot be left without adult supervision and management.

This is your country, this is America, we are free, self-governing people. It is time to act like it.

BISHOP GEORGE MCKINNEY ENDORSES C. MASON WEAVER FOR CONGRESS

SAN DIEGO – Bishop George McKinney, founder and pastor of St. Stephen’s Cathedral Church of God in Christ, has endorsed C. Mason Weaver for San Diego’s 53rd Congressional District.

“I have known Mason for over 20 years, and he is a man of principle, determination and self-sacrifice,” said Bishop McKinney, adding that Weaver’s dedication to the southeast San Diego community included teaching and providing a role model for students at St. Stephen’s Christian School.

“I know that as congressman, Mr. Weaver will help defend moral values, call for sound economic policy and uphold the individual freedoms that Americans hold dear.  He will represent us well,” McKinney said.

Bishop McKinney founded St. Stephen’s in 1962 along with his late wife Dr. Jean C. McKinney. Since 1985, Bishop McKinney has served as Jurisdictional Prelate of Southern California Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, which presides over 35 churches throughout southern California.  In November 2001, he was elevated to the General Board (the presidium) of the Church of God in Christ, Inc.

A letter from Mason

Dear Friend,

This is such an exciting time to be campaigning.  Everywhere I go, people are getting involved in the political process, working to bring America back to the sound principles of faith, family and freedom on which we stood for so many generations.  But with the passage of every liberal bill, those ideals are quickly being eroded.  We cannot let that happen.

As many of you have heard me say, this election cycle is critical.  This is the pivotal election of our generation.  The year 2010, not 2012, will determine what kind of country we’re going to have, what kind of nation we’re going to preserve and what kind of future we will leave for our children.  We must elect representatives who will not compromise, but go to Washington and represent the wishes of the people.  We must send warriors to the battle, this is no longer the time to send diplomats.  The world needs the Republican Party to stand up one more time.

Every week I am getting invitations to speak all over California.  People want their friends to hear the conservative message that I have been consistently speaking for the last 20 years. If you want to host a coffee or other gathering for your friends to hear and meet me, contact our campaign.

As you read our newsletter, get informed, get energized and then get out and share your values with others.    Remember, we win when we show up!

C. Mason Weaver: Tea Party Anniversary Turnout Makes Him
“Proud to be an American”

SAN DIEGO – Despite threats of wind, rain and a coastal tidal wave advisory, C. Mason Weaver joined in with scores of demonstrators Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Nationwide Anniversary Tea Party at San Diego’s Embarcadero.

“The Patriots of San Diego turned out to be heard and to be seen today,” said Weaver.  “Not rain, wind or cold could dampen their passion for freedom.”

Hand-made signs like, “Freedom not Socialism,” “Free the Press” and “Political dissent is not racism” dotted the landscape and yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” and American flags waved in the brisk wind.  Dozens of petitions and candidate materials were passed out among the eager crowd. The event marked the one-year anniversary of the grass-roots TEA Party movement, begun by the SoCal Tax Revolt Coalition to inform government that we are “Taxed Enough Already.”  Speakers included Roger Hedgecock and Richard Rider.

Though candidates for office were not given time to speak,  Weaver noted the importance of supporting the group however he could.  He has spoken to dozens of Tea Party rallies, including Sacramento and last year’s historic 9/12 Taxpayer Tea Party March on Washington, D.C.

“The Tea Party is at the forefront of a new American Revolution that is taking place,” said Weaver. “We are seeing a Revolution in progress that will pave the way to take back America from bureaucrats who don’t understand that ‘no’ means ‘no.’  It appears quite evident that the American People are fully involved in stopping the agenda of Washington and will not be denied.  As I stood there at the end in pouring down rain, I had never been so proud to be an American.”

C. MASON WEAVER SPEAKS TO COLLEGE REPUBLICANS AT UCSD
FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH

LA JOLLA – Speaking at a meeting of the College Republicans earlier this month at the University of California San Diego, C. Mason Weaver told them they can participate in a historic American revolution during the next election cycle.

“There’s an American revolution going on right now,” predicted Weaver. “You’re going to witness it this next election cycle. You should be paying attention because you’re going to tell your grandkids about the great revolution in 2010 when the American people rose up and took their government back.”

Weaver shared his college days with the students, when he joined radical groups trying to gain civil rights for African-Americans. Once those rights were obtained, he said he felt free to join in and compete in a society of capitalists. Although America is still the richest nation on earth, our tax-and-spend policies and government regulations are ruining our prosperity and the innovation of future generations, Weaver warned the students.

“Why would you get up in the morning and go to work if they’re going to take away 60 percent just to pay off the interest on the debt?” Weaver questioned the students. “What’s going to happen to American prosperity, ingenuity? What’s going to happen to your thought pattern? Why would you even make or produce anything if they’re going to tax everything you produce? That’s going to create an environment where you have no ingenuity. Socialism doesn’t innovate because there’s no motivation to do that. Socialism manages what capitalists create. …they want to tax, regulate and control what you have produced.”

Weaver explained that economic turnaround has consistently happened only by reducing taxes:  “Whatever you tax, whatever you tax, you decrease. If you want to get rid of government costs, it’s real simple. Stop requiring government to take care of every problem you have.

“We are entering the second American Revolution,” said Weaver. “It’s a great time. But unlike the first American Revolution, you don’t have to risk your glory and your fortune. You don’t have to risk your livelihood and life…but you do have to stand and be counted. You have to show up.”
