A political campaign can get very dirty, so I was forced to come up with a solution for false statements and rumors offered by my opponents. It occurred to me that I have four books, years of radio broadcasts, and hundreds of public speeches, television appearances, press releases, and interviews. Instead of responding to the out right lies and rumors, I am making my first book and some other relevant documents available on this website. Both the opposition and my fans can research who I am and what I have been saying about the issues for the past two decades.
Here is a searchable version of “It’s OK to Leave the Plantation” for your convenience. You can use the “Search This Site” tool in the right sidebar to perform keyword searches to learn about my views on conservatives, government, the Second Amendment, reparations, affirmative action, or any other topics you may be interested in. Read for yourself my opinions in my own words.
Now let my opponents publish their history and their statements. I have been the defender of conservative values for over twenty years; this is a battle for those values. Send in the warrior.

Conclusion and Raw Data
Who is Mason Weaver/ Clarence Mason and why the name change?
I changed my name from Clarence Mason for the same reason Allen Konigsberg became Woody Allen and Marion Morrison became John Wayne. I hosted a radio program in the early 1990s and was taking about the liberal establishment. The program was called “Talkline with Clarence Mason”, and people where calling my home and harassing my wife while I was at the studio. I was advised on how easy it was for anyone to travel to the county tax recorder and look up my address and escalate the harassment.
I decided to change my “on-air” name and took my stepfather’s last name of Weaver to protect my family. Back in 1993 I did not think I would ever run for office and I continued to use the name for public appearances.
Of course, I have never used the name for credit or identification. I have never kept my real name from anyone who needed to know. Everyone who has ever booked me to speak had to make the airline reservations under the name “Clarence Mason”. Every rental car, home mortgage, checking account, credit card, and driver’s license I have is under Clarence Mason.
I have ONLY used Mason Weaver for public appearances. However, everyone doing business with me knows my real name because they have to write checks out to me.
Below I have copied one of my Press Releases dating back to 1993. The subject is my support for the Voucher Initiative Proposition 174 but the document also states clearly the name Clarence Mason. My opponents would like to paint some dark reason as to why I changed my name. What man would not protect his family?

SUBJECT: PROPOSITION 174 dated October 6, 1993 (965 words)
Conservative Christian Radio Talk show Host Clarence Mason will endorse Proposition 174 on his upcoming radio program this Saturday. Talkline with Clarence Mason airs at 8:pm every Saturday on KPRZ radio 1210 am. Clarence Mason has interviewed guest on both sides of the controversy and will analyze his reasons for supporting the voucher initiative.
“I am tired of all the rhetoric, scare tactics, class envy and lies being expounded by opponents to this proposal. It is a very clear choice, are we to continue in a failed non responsive system, or do we take control of our children back from the state and direct their education ourselves. It is a racist and insulting suggestion to argue Black kids will be harmed by 174. Let us look at some of the arguments against proposition 174.
Only the rich and white would benefit from the voucher program and leave black and poor in public schools.
This is insulting to conclude that only rich and white parents would choose to put their kids in better schools. The rich already have that choice, middle class parents may not be able to pay $3,000 for private school but with the voucher they could handle the $200 or $300 more for their kids tuition. Also competition would allow other schools to open at lower tuition. We have thousands of teachers frustrated with the dictatorial control over them by the State and teacher unions, they would have more opportunities to transfer and form their own schools.
If 174 Passes Non – credentialed teachers could be teaching your children.
This is a smoke screen. They assume being “Credentialed” makes you “qualified”. If that were true then public schools, with all of their credentialed teacher, should be doing a fine job…..are they? Credentials gives nothing to the ability to teach, it gives no qualifications, only indoctrination of a system which has failed.
Example, If your medical doctor with twenty years experience wanted to give something back to his community after retirement he would be ineligible to teach High School health classes because he didn’t have “credentials” . Who would argue his qualifications – no one . But this doctor would have to attend College for 18 months to be indoctrinated on the beliefs and propaganda of the system, before he would be able to teach. The only other choice available would be private school, which doesn’t require credentials but only “qualifications” (perhaps this is why their students have higher grades than public school students).
It amazes me that a lawyer couldn’t teach civics, your mayor couldn’t teach government or the most successful business man in your community isn’t fit to teach junior high economics. But some teacher with 80% illiteracy rate among his students can teach year after year because he has “credentials”.
KKK, Witches, Skinheads, Cults and Others would be free to open schools with taxpayer dollars.
These groups already have their schools, my concerns are the other students that are restricted. Parents should have the right to teach their children based upon the parents values not the state’s. These are the 90’s we are culturally tolerant and supposed to celebrate the differences among us. This is what made America the country it is. Why are there some groups saying culture diversity is ok as long as we control what is taught?
All of the arguments against the voucher comes down to control, of money and influence. Yes, the teachers union will lose control of some of it’s members, yes other groups with ideas different from the State may open schools, yes we may decide not to buy school sponsored books and learning material, and yes we may not want our children learning how to put on a condom or exploring homosexuality or visiting a Doctor without our knowledge. But I have seen no evidence or even discussions from the opponents stating this proposition would not better the education of our children.
I put more faith in the parents of this nation ,we know what is best for our children.
Black leaders are against this proposition and so is the black community.
This is a completely false and misleading, first will someone please tell me what is a “Black leader”? I am Black I have a highly visible position in this community, There are people that look towards me for advice and trust my judgment, does that make me a “Black leader?” NO! It makes me a talk show host or a Minister of God’s word. I have never heard of a “White leader”. The suggestion that Black people need a leader is based on the plantation mentality of many in the news media. We are not a tribe, we don’t have a “Chief”. We are a divers community with different educational, social and economic interest. There are no strictly “Black issues,” all issues affect all of us. I resent the notion that I have a spokesmen, I care not to follow the leadership or advice of someone simply because he has a large congregation or has appeared on the news. We are no longer on the plantation we are mainstream America with our own opinions. I know of many Black businessmen, ministers, educators and professionals that
support proposition 174. Their views are well known but since they don’t line up with the recognized “Black leaders” we don’t hear a lot from them.
To Black America may I suggest, It’s OK to leave the plantation, you don’t need to have someone give your opinion for you, yours is valid give it yourself at the polls!”
Listeners are invited to call into the program by dialing 1-800-281-1210
This Saturdays guest will be Bishop George D. McKinney of St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ. Bishop McKinney is also a supporter of proposition 174.
